Live! Casino and Local Leaders Celebrate Over $19 Million Awarded in Local Share Funds
Since opening, Live! Casino has invested $611 million in the economy.
HEMPFIELD TWP., Pa. (Jan. 14, 2025) — The Cordish Companies and Live! Casino today hosted a celebration to announce the details of $19,359,645 of Local Share Account (LSA) grants distributed in 2024 to Westmoreland County municipalities and governmental agencies. For last year, the LSA provided funding to 53 local municipalities and organizations to help fund 89 projects throughout Westmoreland County. Individual grants ranged from $6,967 through $850,000. In all, Live! Casino paid nearly $60 million in taxes last year.
LSA grant proceeds are derived from three distinct funds: Local Share Account Statewide, $15,132,837; Local Share Account Category 4 Facilities Program (Westmoreland County), $2,113,404; and an additional $2,113,404 distributed to Hempfield Township as the host municipality of the entertainment facility. Both the Statewide and Category 4 Facilities Program LSAs are authorized and coordinated through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). State legislators, Westmoreland County commissioners and Hempfield Township representatives were joined by dozens of grant recipients and local community leaders to celebrate the community investments, all targeted to improve the quality of life in Westmoreland County. Funds have been used for a wide variety of needs, including police and fire department equipment, road resurfacing, bridge reconstruction, playground and park improvements, stormwater upgrades, and more.
“Live! Casino has been a real winner for taxpayers across the Commonwealth, but especially here in Westmoreland County,” said state Sen. Kim Ward. “The Cordish family and Live! Casino have really stepped up to help countless Westmoreland County projects come to fruition, as well as revitalize economic development around the mall.”

“Live! Casino has been instrumental in our efforts to provide the infrastructure and services our residents need,” said Dan Debone, president and chief executive officer of the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce. “Without LSA, critical infrastructure improvements would not be possible.”
From an overall economic impact standpoint, the Live! Casino facility has generated $611 million in investments to the economy since opening in 2020. As a sampling, Live! has paid almost $230 million in taxes, including nearly $60 million last year. An additional $160 million was invested in construction and $175 million in employee compensation/benefits, goods and services. Live! Casino also has donated $690,000 through charitable contributions and associations, which target local charities. Beyond investments and donations, jackpot winnings by customers have totaled more than $260 million in payouts.
